Nicolo Fagioli’s Derby d’Italia dreams came true on Sunday night as he scored a goal on his Serie A debut to give Juventus a 2-0 win against Inter Milan.
It took a while for the game to warm up, with the away side starting the better team with Denzel Dumfries coming close several times in the opening term.
But it was Filip Kostic who ensured the victory for Max Allegri’s side, teeing up Adrien Rabiot with a zipping cross into the penalty area, which the French midfielder slotted home with a superb first-time finish.

Juventus had a goal disallowed just ten minutes later, with Kostic again delivering a cross into the box from a corner, which was met by Danilo, who, despite turning the ball into the goal with his shin, appeared to handle the ball in the process.
Fagioli, a graduate of the Juventus academy, secured three points for the Torino side, after he received a cross, again from Kostic, and hammered in a deflected shot on the 84th minute to send the Allianz Stadium into delirium.

It was a fairytale start to life in Serie A for the 21-year-old, who helped his side climb the Italian first division table to fifth place, with Juve now just two points behind Atalanta and ten points off Napoli who top the ladder.
Meanwhile, Inter, who looked to be the dominant team early on, stay seventh in the table, but could leapfrog tonight’s opponents with a win against Bologna in midweek.
