Rishi Sunak has said more fines and inspections will crack down on utility companies which leave behind potholes after digging up roads.
The prime minister said he wanted to make it easier for people to get around, as he visited damaged roads.
Mr Sunak was on a campaign visit in Darlington ahead of May’s local elections in England.
