Al-Ettifaq ‘approach Steven Gerrard about manager’s job’ with former Aston Villa and Rangers boss to consider the offer

Steven Gerrard has been approached by Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq about becoming their new manager.
Liverpool legend Gerrard has been out of work since being sacked by Aston Villa last October.
According to L’Equipe, Gerrard has welcomed Al-Ettifaq’s offer and is taking time to consider it.
During his time at Villa Gerrard won 13, drew eight and lost 19 of his 40 matches in charge.
Prior to that he won the Scottish Premiership with Rangers in the 2020-21 campaign.

There is a significant amount of interest in Saudi Arabian football at present following Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr earlier this year.
Karim Benzema has left Real Madrid to join Al-Ittihad, where he could be joined by Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.
Al-Ettifaq, meanwhile, finished in seventh place this season out of 16 teams.
Gerrard was recently linked with the Leicester job, with the Foxes looking for a new manager to replace Dean Smith following their relegation to the Championship.
