Beau Greaves fell to a straight sets defeat against William O’Connor in the World Darts Championship but looked at home as she made history.
Greaves came into the game already a history-maker as the youngest ever woman to take part in the World Darts Championship and excitement was high.
The 18-year-old did not looked phased walking up to the stage and managed to win the opening leg with an impressive 120 checkout

However, O’Connor used his experience to guide him home to the win, as Greaves began to falter on key darts towards the business end of the game.
Despite the loss, there are plenty of positives for Greaves to take from this experience.
The teenager had opportunities to win the opening two sets but on both occasions missed crucial darts that could have seen her take a 2-0 lead.
O’Connor didn’t pass up on such opportunities and capitalised on Greaves’ errors as he took control of the encounter.
