Boxer Isiah Jones has reportedly been shot and killed following a dispute with his brother, his trainer claims. He was 28-years-old.
Roshawn Jones, who has worked as Isiah’s trainer but is unrelated to the fighter, told RingTV.com that the welterweight had been arguing with his brother Monday evening before he was ultimately shot in the head.
Detroit police have not confirmed that information, but did say a 28-year-old man was killed following an argument with a relative on Monday evening, stating that the incident occurred on the 9300 block of Stout Street. Police spokespeople did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for more information.
‘Isaiah Jones (9-7-0) is a Pro Boxer out of Detroit, Michigan, a fellow member of Soul City Boxing and Wrestling Gym, our last fight was against Roy jones jr Promotion Team! ‘ tweeted Roshawn Jones. ‘Isaiah, Lost his life yesterday in a tragic event! Please keep his family in your prayers.’

He had a reported amateur record of 52-2, winning the 2016 National Golden Gloves and later turning pro that same year.
He won his first out bouts under Roshawn Jones, according to Ring, but lost seven of next eight after leaving the camp.
Isiah Jones did score an upset over Donte Stubbs, who was unbeaten heading into their 2020 bout. His last fight was a loss to Andrew Murphy in July.
He does have the distinction of boxing in ‘The Bubble’ at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, in Top Rank’s effort to create fight cards during the onset of the pandemic.
Jones fought three times in the bubble.
He also lost to rising welterweight prospect Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams on the Canelo Alvarez-Callum Smith undercard in 2019.
