Matildas captain Sam Kerr will confirm on Saturday if she will line up against Canada in Melbourne on Monday night in the must win World Cup clash.

Kerr, 29, is yet to feature in the tournament after injuring her calf days out from Australia’s Group B opener versus Republic of Ireland.

A Football Australia spokesperson confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that Kerr – as well as teammate Ellie Carpenter – will front the media from their home base in Brisbane on Saturday afternoon.

Football Australia’s decision to keep Kerr’s injury a closely guarded secret has attracted plenty of criticism.

Under pressure coach Tony Gustvasson has claimed it was purely tactical.
