Corey Horsburgh has copped a lashing for ‘letting his team down’ after the Raiders star was sin binned for throwing a punch during Canberra’s game against Parra.

With both sides evenly matched halfway through the first term, Horsburgh involved himself in a minor altercation that unfolded when the Raiders defended their own try line during an Eels attack.

Parra star Ryan Matterson sent a nudge into the back of one of his Canberra rivals, and a furious Horsburgh arrived on the scene and threw a punch at the big second rower.

A fracas unfolded and once the feud settled, referee Grant Atkins gave Horsburgh his marching orders.

‘You’ve thrown a punch so you are going to the bin,’ he said.

Kangaroos coach Mal Meninga was far from impressed with Horsburgh’s behaviour.

‘I think it’s daft,’ he said on Fox League.

‘You just don’t do that. He’s let then team down. [He spends] Ten minutes in the bin and Parramatta score.

‘I just feel that wasn’t the right thing to do.’

More to follow.
