Jude Bellingham has jokingly urged fans to bunk off to watch England bid to lift the World Cup.
The Borussia Dortmund star put in a superb performance during the Three Lions’ 6-2 mauling of Iran on Monday.
Bellingham opened the scoring with a fine header to set Gareth Southgate‘s side on their way to the top of Group B.

Fans bunked off in their droves to watch Monday’s Group B opener which kicked off at the unusual time of 1pm UK time.
Following the match, Bellingham was shown a video clip of fans packed into London’s Box Park at the moment his header hit the back of the net.
The 19-year-old watched on as thousands threw their lunchtime beers into the air in jubilation and approved of England fans taking time off to support the team.
‘It would have been one o’clock there? Half one? Sack it! Don’t go to work when we’re playing, ‘ Bellingham joked.

The Stourbridge-born star became the first player born after 2002 to score in a World Cup game and afterwards spoke of his failure to sleep after achieving the amazing feat.
He added: ‘I’m coming down from the high now and focusing on the next game.
‘It’s difficult to sleep to be fair. I was up all night.’
‘We have to back it up with a good performance and a good win against America.’
