Sections of Chelsea supporters made their unhappy feelings clear to the club’s co-owner at Stamford Bridge on Saturday as the Blues suffered a comeback defeat against Brighton.

Animated home fans who were sat above the American owner shouted down towards the directors area where he was sat and berated Boehly during the game and at full-time.

The 49-year-old appears to respond to supporters directing criticism his way and can be seen waving his arms back towards those towering above him in one image.

Another accompanying photo appears to show one supporter standing up and shouting down towards Boehly mid-game who simply looks up but doesn’t leave his plush seat.

Boehly and fellow co-owner Behdad Eghbali completed their takeover at Chelsea prior to the start of the new season but haven’t enjoyed a happy start to life in charge.

The American chief decision-maker in particular has been at the forefront of complaints after the club spent over £600million on new players over two transfer windows that so far haven’t worked.

Defeat to Brighton leaves Chelsea slumped in 11th place of the Premier League standings and closer to the relegation zone than the Champions League positions.

Boehly has been a present figure at home matches throughout the season but this appears to be the first time that fans have made direct contact with him to share their thoughts.

He doesn’t appear to have helped quell the negative energy surrounding his position after bizarrely suggesting that Chelsea would beat Real Madrid 3-0 in their Champions League tie earlier in the week. They lost that match 2-0.

His tenure at the club started in chaos after deciding to fire the well-liked Thomas Tuchel – now in charge at Bayern Munich – from his managerial duties and bring in former Brighton boss Graham Potter.

Potter was then sacked after less than seven months in charge despite Boehly previously stating that he had employed the Englishman as part of a long-term project.

The club then moved to give Frank Lampard a second stab in charge after he previously had his contract terminated by previous owner Roman Abramovich.

Lampard is without a win in three games and has watched Chelsea score just one goal in the process since he returned to Stamford Bridge.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville is an outspoken critic of Boehly’s reign and recently stated that the American is ‘having an absolute nightmare’ in charge.

Chelsea are still searching for their next permanent manager and have been heavily linked with Julian Nagelsmann after he was axed from his position at Munich prior to Tuchel’s arrival.
