Chelsea will begin their Women’s Super League title defence against London rivals Tottenham at Stamford Bridge while Arsenal take on Liverpool at the Emirates in the opening round of fixtures.

It’s a tough start for new Spurs boss Robert Vilahamn, who has been tasked with improving the club’s fortunes following a poor 2022-2023 campaign.

Manchester United, who finished one point behind champions Chelsea, will begin the new season with a trip to Aston Villa

Carla Ward’s side will host United at Villa Park in the first game of the weekend, with a kick-off time of 12.30pm on BBC 2. Chelsea’s clash with Tottenham will be shown live on Sky Sports with a 5.30pm kick-off.

Manchester City start their season with a trip to West Ham, newly promoted Bristol City begin with a home game against Leicester while Everton host Brighton.

It’s a tough start for Marc Skinner’s United side, who host Arsenal in their second game of the season. The second round of fixtures also sees City host Chelsea.

Arsenal will play five home games at the Emirates this season – including their first two fixtures. As well as their opening game against Liverpool, the club will host Villa, United, Chelsea and Tottenham.

The Gunners’ clash with Chelsea comes on December 10 while their matches against United and Spurs will be played on February 18 and March 3.

The two Manchester derbies will take place on November 19 and March 24, with United hosting the first game before the reverse fixture at the Academy Stadium.

A potential title decider may come on the final day, with United hosting champions Chelsea at Leigh Sports Village. The two teams will also play each other in the first game back from the winter break.

The Blues’ home game with Arsenal comes on March 17 while City visit Emma Hayes’ side on February 18.

The first Merseyside derby comes in the third week of the season as Liverpool host Everton. The reverse fixtures takes place on March 24.
