Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi combine to send a happy birthday message to Hulk’s lucky children

Football superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi put their rivalries to one side as they sent happy birthday video messages to Brazil striker Hulk’s son.

In a video posted to social media, Hulk’s sons – Ian and Thiago – can be seen watching the TV alongside their father as a host of footballers including Messi and Ronaldo pop up on screen with celebratory video messages.

Players had taken time out of their off-season summer trips to make the birthday videos for Hulks sons who were celebrating turning 12 and 14 respectively.

Hulk’s fellow countryman and Brazil captain Neymar was first to appear on screen with the PSG star dressed in a grey jumper and baseball cap as he wished the two boys happy birthday.

Messi featured in the video next with the 35-year-old appearing to take time out from a meal with friends while on holiday to record a birthday message. Sat at a table, Messi recorded a quick video and gave the camera a thumbs up.

The clip finished with Ronaldo – who was rocking a Prada t-shirt and jeans – recording a similar birthday message before ending his message with a double thumbs up. 

The two boys clearly in shock ran to hug their father as they were overwhelmed by emotion after watching the video recordings in their sitting room.

Hulk currently plays for Brazilian Serie A side Atletico Mineiro and has recently become a father for the fourth time after his former niece now wife gave birth in April. 

The right-winger renowned for his strength and long-range shooting was previously a regular on the European scene with him playing in the Champions league from 2009 until 2015 for a host of clubs.

Hulk made 49 appearances for the Brazil national team but has featured just once since 2016

He was most recognisable for his lengthy stints at Porto and Zenit St Petersburg.

The inclusion of Messi and Ronaldo came as a shock with Hulk never featuring in the same team as either players but did play against Messi once in the 2012 UEFA Super Cup. 

The 36-year-old made headlines when he started dating the niece of his ex-wife in 2019 after ending his 12-year relationship with Iran Angelo.

Camila Angelo and the footballer then married in 2020 while Hulk was playing for Chinese side Shangai SIPG before moving to his homeland of Brazil together.
