The 23-year-old moved to Selhurst Park from QPR for £16 million in the summer of 2020 and impressed in his debut season in the Premier League, scoring four goals and setting up another six.

Palace had initially feared Eze may be out until 2022, but the winger now looks likely to feature at some point this year.

‘He’s doing really well,’ Eagles manager Patrick Vieira said last month.

Patrick Vieira said Eze remained a ‘couple of weeks away’ from returning to the first team

‘He has started training with the team, but he’s still a couple of weeks away from getting involved because we have to be really, really realistic with the injury that he had and the time that he needs to be fitter to get involved.’

Asked about his recovery in October, Eze replied: ‘The day I come back is going to be beautiful for me.

‘A beautiful experience stepping out with the fans. I haven’t experienced all the fans before. It’s going to be like my debut all over again. Amazing.
