  • Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen recovered well to deny Szoboszlai

Dominik Szoboszlai was denied a first goal since his £60million summer move to Liverpool after Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen kept out his long-range effort with a diving header.

Szoboszlai came on at half-time during Liverpool’s 4-0 win over the Foxes at the Singapore National Stadium.

The Hungarian midfielder showcased his talent an audacious attempt as the match reached the hour mark.

Szoboszlai won back possession on the halfway line from Harry Winks, with the 22-year-old then spotting Hermansen off his line.

The Reds’ summer signing quickly took a touch and chipped goalwards from inside the centre circle.

A backpedaling Hermansen reacted impressively to Szoboszlai’s effort, with the Leicester goalkeeper adjusting well to connect with a diving header.

Hermansen, a summer signing from Brondby, was relieved to see the ball bounce wide of the target to keep the score at 3-0.

It proved only a brief respite for Leicester, with Szoboszlai contributing to Liverpool’s fourth goal of the match.

The Hungarian’s corner was flicked goalwards by Joel Matip, with winger Ben Doak converting from close range at the back post.

Doak’s effort added to first half goals from Darwin Nunez, Bobby Clark and Diogo Jota.

Szoboszlai was brought off in the latter for Liverpool, with the midfielder playing 30 minutes on his return from an ankle knock earlier in pre-season.
