His season has been blighted by injuries, which have meant he has been forced to miss key matches both domestically, in Europe and for the United States National team.

Reyna first encountered the problems whilst on USMNT duty when playing against El Salvador in a World Cup qualifier back September last year. It resulted in him missing five months of action.

The injury was again came back to haunt Reyna when he returned in February, but the player was sidelined for just a couple of weeks.

He was able to help his side secure qualification for the World Cup in Qatar, which will take place in seven months time.

If his injury problems continue, however, it would be a huge blow for the talented star and his national team.

Following Reyna’s latest setback, Dortmund manager Marco Rose spoke to Sky Sport Germany after the win over Stuttgart.
