Several players on the Philadelphia Eagles have brushed off comments made by Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons, just 10 days before both teams face off on Christmas Eve to decide which team tops the NFC East.

Earlier this week, Parsons had questioned the hype around Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, after Philadelphia had become the first team to book its spot in the playoffs as it steamrolled to a 48-22 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday.

Hurts made two touchdown passes and ran to the end zone in that game, as the NFL-best Eagles’ offense continued to prove unstoppable amid their 12-1 season.

‘I’m going to worry about the Chicago Bears this week, mate, worry about this game,’ said Jordan Mailata, an offensive tackle for the Eagles. ‘Michael should worry about his game this week, too. I don’t know who the f**k they’re playing, pardon my language. Just worry about who you got this week.

‘That’s how we do it here. I’m not going to worry about any other comments anybody said. That’s just how we focus and run about our business.’

‘We’ve got the Chicago Bears, not the Chicago Micah Parsons,’ Mailata insisted.

Previously speaking on Bills pass rusher Von Miller’s ‘Voncast’, Parsons questioned whether Hurts deserved the credit for the Eagles’ success or whether it was a team effort.

Parsons asked: ‘Is it Hurts or the team?’. Miller responded, ‘I think it’s a little bit of both, man.’

‘I’m not trying to make no enemies,’ Parsons said. ‘I just love the game so much. And I understand it so much that, like, I can’t — when things are off, I just can’t hold it in. I almost gotta say something.’

On Wednesday, Hurts refused to get into mind games with Parsons, only saying on the matter: ‘We’re worried about the Bears right now.’

The 24-year-old Houstonian is among this year’s top contenders to win the MVP award this season. He became the first quarterback in NFL history to record double-digit rushing touchdowns in back-to-back seasons, the first player in NFL history with 12 wins, 30-plus total touchdowns and five or fewer turnovers in the first 13 games of a season.

His rating (108.4) and touchdown to interceptions ratio (7.33) have also never been as high in his previous two seasons. Hurts’ percentage of completed passes is also ranked fourth in the league, as it climbed from 61.3 percent in 2021 to 68 percent this year.

He’s joint-second with Josh Allen and Joe Burrow when it comes to touchdown contributions this season (32). Hurts trailed leader Patrick Mahomes by three passes.

Heading into Week 6, the Eagles (12-1) hold a two-game lead over the 10-3 Cowboys and won the last game between both teams, 17-26, in October. At the time, Cooper Rush had been Dallas’ starting quarterback due to Dak Prescott being ruled out with a thumb injury.

The Cowboys will now look forward to the rematch next week on Christmas Eve in Dallas. However, the Eagles are taking weekly approaches to every game, it seems.

‘I have no comment,’ said Philadelphia wide receiver, A.J. Brown. ‘We’ll worry about them when we see ’em.’

Dallas faces the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
