Edgbaston will open and close the Vitality Blast next summer following the introduction of a new curtain raiser.
English cricket’s Twenty20 competition will begin with a ‘Blast Off’ double header on May 20 in which 2022 semi-finalists Yorkshire and Lancashire will play Birmingham Bears and Derbyshire respectively.
The Birmingham venue will host another sold-out finals day on July 15.

‘There is nothing quite like the buzz of Edgbaston when it is packed full of fans. I know that the players feed off that and everyone will want to put on a show,’ said Sportsmail columnist Moeen Ali, who will play for the Bears in 2023 following his winter switch from Worcestershire.
The full fixture schedule for the Blast will be published next Wednesday.
