Emma Raducanu cuts ties with her FIFTH coach two years after her historic US Open victory

Emma Raducanu cuts ties with her FIFTH coach since winning the US Open in 2021 as the injured star parts ways with Sebastian Sachs just six months into their partnership

  • The player has struggled to build a lasting relationship with a coach since 2021
  • Sachs previously helped Belinda Bencic win Olympic gold at the Tokyo Olympics
  • Raducanu is currently recovering from hand and ankle surgeries in early May

Emma Raducanu has cut ties with her coach Sebastian Sachs after working with the German trainer for only six months.

The player has worked with a number of different coaches since her 2021 US Open success but failed to build a lasting working relationship with any of the six coaches she has worked with over the past 25 months.

In a statement posted to Twitter, the 20-year-old said: ‘I have really enjoyed Seb’s coaching and working with him, it’s unfortunate that circumstances made it unfeasible for both of us to continue right now and we have decided to part ways.

‘I wish Seb all the best moving forwards.’

The player is currently recovering from surgery on both hands and her ankle, and is set to miss the entire grass court season.

Raducanu appointed Sachs in December 2022 after two months without a coach following her October split with Dmitry Tursunov.

Tursunov and Raducanu worked together for a handful of months on a trial basis, with the option to extend their deal not exercised.

The player previously worked with Torben Beltz for five months between 2021 and 2022, as well as Nigel Sears, and Andrew Richardson.

During interim periods, Raducanu has relied upon coaches including Jeremy Bates, and LTA head of women’s tennis Iain Bates, on a temporary basis.
