Marc Guehi and Kyle Walker-Peters are set to make their England debuts in Saturday’s friendly against Switzerland, according to reports.

The duo received their first international call-ups this month after impressing for Crystal Palace and Southampton respectively in the 2021/22 campaign.

Walker-Peters, who has made 28 appearances for Saints this season, was only brought into Gareth Southgate’s squad on Monday after Trent Alexander-Arnold and Reece James pulled out through injury.

Guehi, meanwhile, was included in the original 25-man shortlist after racking up 33 appearances for Palace.

And according to Sky Sports, the defenders are expected to make their full Three Lions bows against Switzerland at Wembley.

Tyrick Mitchell, Guehi’s Palace team-mate who also earned his first call-up this month, is also in line to start in the friendly.

Southgate has seen a number of players drop out of his latest squad through injury or illness ahead of England’s friendlies against Switzerland and Ivory Coast.

Tammy Abraham was also forced to withdraw, with Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins coming in to replace the injured Roma striker.

West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone was also brought in to replace Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale, only to then pull out himself due to illness.

Southampton veteran Fraser Forster earned a call-up in Johnstone’s place almost six years since his last international cap.
