‘Everyone’s getting awards for anything these days’: Roy Keane takes aim at pre-match presentations

Roy Keane has taken aim at Manchester United‘s pre-match presentations, claiming ‘everyone’s getting awards for anything these days’, as he slams their poor first half performance against West Ham. 

Several presentations took place before kick-off with the club showing off the Carabao Cup which the side picked up at the weekend, their first major trophy in six years. 

And while Keane is known for his no-nonsense approach to football, the ex-player criticised the presentations, amid a scathing rant against United’s first half performance, which he claimed was ‘nowhere near good enough.’   

Keane said on the first half: ‘No intensity, very sloppy going through the motions. Before the game even down on the pitch side there were a lot of presentations and everyone’s getting awards for anything these days.

‘But they’ve just not turned up, obviously the manager has taken a gamble making so many changes and hes got great options off the bench. 

‘You still expect united to do the business off the second half but nowhere near good enough and a I’m little bit angry.’
