Former Miami Dolphins star and current Ohio State football coach Brian Hartline had allegedly been drinking before he and a friend flipped an ATV at his home in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Hartline was rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later tweeted that he is recovering, but now further details – and video – has emerged of the moments after the crash on his property.

TMZ shared 911 audio of Hartline’s sister Jaimie calling an ambulance from the house, in which she frantically describes ‘hearing a really loud scream’, before revealing that Hartline and his friend had been drinking before driving the ATV.

In police bodycam footage obtained by DailyMail.com, the overturned vehicle can be seen while medics attend to Hartline, who is lying on his back on the ground.

In the 911 call, Jaimie reveals: ‘My friend’s husband called us and said “call 911 right now.” So my brother is out with them and his wife just took a 4-wheeler out to them and I heard a really loud scream.’

On Sunday night, Hartline took to social media to reassure fans that he is okay, with the Ohio State Buckeyes pre-season preparations fast approaching.

The team’s offensive co-ordinator wrote: ‘I appreciate everyone’s support. I crashed my side by side on my property and have been taken to the hospital for further evaluation. I am doing well,’ before adding an emoji of a pair of praying hands and a salute.

The University also released a statement on the incident on Sunday night, which read: ‘Ohio State assistant football coach Brian Hartline and a friend, unaffiliated with Ohio State, were transported to Riverside Hospital early this morning with non-life-threatening injuries sustained in an ATV accident on his property.

‘According to Hartline, he is hoping to be released from the hospital later this evening.’

Details of the incident are sketchy thus far, but Hartline is a keen outdoorsman and his Instagram is full of pictures of him on boats and dipping his toes into other adrenaline-fueled activities.

Hartline, who also played WR at Ohio State during his college days, has perhaps become more noted for his excellent recruiting and coaching ability than for his ability as a player during his career.

He had crucial roles in both the recruitment and development of first-round picks such as Terry McLaurin, Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Jameson Williams, and second-round pick Parris Campbell along with others.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba is expected to be taken in the first year of this year’s NFL draft to continue the trend of stud wide outs from the Buckeyes program, while Marvin Harrison Jr. looks set to be ranked as the top WR in the 2024 draft class.

Hartline was promoted from wide receiver’s coach to offensive coordinator ahead of the 2022-23 season.

During his career which saw him spend six seasons with the Dolphins, before playing his final year with the Cleveland Browns Hartline recorded 344 receptions, 4,766 yards, and 14 touchdowns.

His career high in yardage came during the 2012 season when he registered 1,083 yards with the Dolphins, while his career highs touchdown and receptions came the following season when he caught 76 passes for four touchdowns.
