Thousands of frustrated cricket fans will not be able to attend day one of the fourth Test in India due to 85,000 tickets being set aside for the Indian Prime Minister to welcome Anthony Albanese.

Angry fans from both India and Australia have reported that no tickets are available to the public for the first day of cricket for the Test in Ahmedabad.

Indian authorities have set aside 85,000 tickets – in a 130,000 seat stadium – for local families and students.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is famous for stage managing events, will be hosting the Aussie PM in the enormous venue.

It’s anticipated that thousands of Modi’s handpicked fans will show up on the day to support him.

The Australian government is reportedly working with the cricket board to find a solution for Aussie fans wanting to attend the match.

Websites that sell tickets for the event are informing fans that no seats are currently available, which is maddening for both locals and travelling Aussies.

Cricket fan Michelle Ryan, who regularly travels to watch Australia play overseas, is furious with the state of affairs.

‘It is absolutely disgraceful to deprive any cricket fans the opportunity to attend the match,’ she told News Corp

‘I would like to know how long they are going to be at the stadium.

‘I think our Prime Minister should be using his time in India on more important issues than meeting dignitaries that PM Modi is trying to impress.’

Other fans took to social media to vent their frustrations.

‘I want to book tickets for the 4th India Australia Test at Ahmedabad. But it is showing closed. See pic below. The tickets went live just today. It can’t be possible that all the tickets are sold out. Please advise me what needs to be done,’ wrote one Twitter user.

‘Failure at multiple levels. The board is a joke. There’s a test in Ahmedabad in 8 days. Biggest stadium in the country. PMs of both countries will be attending day 1. The board is yet to release tickets for day 1. The board is shamelessly incompetent,’ commented another.
