Borussia Dortmund gained a Bundesliga victory that looked unlikely at half-time at the Europa-Park Stadium, as they scored three second-half goals to overturn Freiburg’s early lead.
A first-half goal for Freiburg’s Michael Gregoritsch was cancelled out by Jamie Byone-Gittens late long-range strike, before Youssoufa Moukoko and Marius Wolf secured the win for the visitors.
28-year-old striker Gregoritsch caused the visitors problems all evening as he continued his stellar start to life at his new club.
Byone-Gittens’ strike appeared to surprise Mark Flekken in the Freiburg goal, who could only parry the ball over his head and into the net to level the game.
Despite the result, Dortmund fans will be slightly concerned at their side’s performance, as they were out-ran by their opponents for much of the game and looked clumsy in defence.
