Fulham have spoken to FC Twente about right-back Josh Brenet, 28, as their deal to bring in Arsenal‘s Cedric Soares on loan drags.
Fulham registered an interest in signing Cedric on loan but negations with Arsenal stalled due to his £65k-a-week wage demands, which the Cottagers are reluctant to pay.
Therefore, Fulham have turned their attention to FC Twente defender, Brenet. They have also earmarked Heerenveen’s Milan van Ewijk as another potential option.

They were interested in signing Arsenal’s Cedric Soares on loan but negotiations are dragging
Arsenal were keen to sell Cedric given he has been a surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium this season.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has preferred playing Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu at the back for Arsenal.
Therefore, Cedric has made just one Premier League appearance this season, coming on as a substitute.
While his only start for the Gunners during the 2022-2023 campaign came in the Carabao Cup loss against Brighton.
Therefore, Arsenal were open to shipping Cedric out on loan to Fulham. However, the 31-year-old’s £65k-a-week wage demands were an issues.
Additionally, Fulham would need to sign Shane Duffy on a permanent from Brighton to bring in Soares on loan.
