Jake Paul taunts ‘shot’ Conor McGregor and insists the Irishman will one day fight him – and lose – because he can’t resist a payday

Jake Paul has turned his attention to taunting Conor McGregor, who he thinks is washed up and an easy fight.

Speaking to talkSPORT on Wednesday, Paul predicted that he will one day fight McGregor and even said he’ll learn MMA to make it happen.

‘When I knock out Nate Diaz I think that Conor McGregor is gonna see me, want a pay day and come and get knocked out,’ Paul said.

‘We can fight in the PFL SmartCage, whatever it is. I told everybody that I would fight Conor in any form of fight because he, in my opinion, is that shot.

‘I’ll do MMA, I’m not afraid to step in there. I’ve wanted to do that my whole career. I’m a wrestler, wrestler background.

‘So, all I’d have to learn is some jiu-jitsu and some kicks, which seems pretty easy to me.’

Paul is set to fight next against Diaz on August 5 in Texas and has also been trying to secure a rematch against Tommy Fury, after losing to him earlier this year.

McGregor is currently scheduled to return to UFC with a fight against Michael Chandler – the duo are the coaches on the latest Ultimate Fighter series.

In this week’s episode, McGregor pushed Chandler and threatened to break his nose as they squared up each other following Chandler’s fighter beating one of McGregor’s on the series.

McGregor last fought in 2021, when he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier.

There are an array of reasons to suggest McGregor will not fight Chandler this year but just this week the Irishman insisted his preparation is going to plan.

McGregor has recently been accused of sexual assault by a woman he allegedly met during the NBA Finals between Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets.

The woman met McGregor at the game at the Kaseya Center and was leaving the arena when she claims his security told her he was asking for her in the bathroom. Once inside the bathroom, she claims he forced her to perform oral sex on him and forcibly kissed her.

She claims McGregor then spat on her and on himself while trying to arouse himself. The woman’s attorney told DailyMail.com she went to police to report the incident but was turned away and advised to hire legal help.

McGregor denies the allegations. ‘These allegations are false. Mr. McGregor will not be intimidated,’ his attorney said in a statement when the allegations surfaced.

Furthermore he is still yet to re-enroll in the USADA drug testing pool and recently missed the deadline to stage his upcoming fight with Michael Chandler this year.

The final UFC pay-per-view event of 2023 is pencilled in for December 16, so McGregor would have to have made himself available for testing by June 16 in order to complete the mandatory six months of random drug tests to be cleared to compete.

However, McGregor still hasn’t been added to USADA’s online database. In fact, he hasn’t be on there since the third quarter of 2021.

Yet McGregor recently insisted on Twitter he is ‘well in preparation’ for his upcoming fight, which suggests he could be back in action this year.
