Jalen Hurts expressed his gratitude to God and the Philadelphia Eagles organization during his first press conference since signing the biggest contract in NFL history.
Three years to the day since the Eagles drafted Hurts in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Hurts appeared at the podium Monday morning.
As ever, Hurts was filled with gratitude spending the first minutes of his conference thanking everyone from his Lord and Savior, to the Eagles’ staff and players, along with his family, naming and thanking him individually.
‘It’s not a moment where I can reflect, because the journey isn’t over,’ Hurts said. ‘I’ve been on this constant quest of trying to be the best player I can be – with no limits, just trying to be the best version of myself.’
Despite the temptation of comfort from securing generational wealth befalling many before him, Hurts made it abundantly clear he is still on a mission to achieve, both individually and collectively.

‘That will never change. The hard work continues and the fire continues to burn.’
Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie described the contract as a ‘special moment’ for the franchise.
‘This is the beginning,’ Lurie said. ‘This is not towards the end. This is the beginning of a career arc for a remarkable person and a remarkable player.
‘The future we don’t even know. The ceiling? There is no ceiling. It’s all there.
‘Today is an incredibly exciting day for the Philadelphia Eagles… it’s remarkable that somebody can combine the talent that Jalen has, the personal qualities and the ability at such a young age as a culture-setter.’
