Eight-time Major winner Tom Watson and LeslieAnne Wade have signaled the end of their marriage after just three months.

The former CBS executive, who now has her own golf PR firm — White Tee Partners —  took to Twitter on Monday to announce their time together had come to an end.

Watson and Wade married in July but since decided to call it quits due to the latter’s battle with an ‘unexpected illness.’

‘Over the past few months I have been focused singularly on a challenging road through unexpected illness,’ Wade tweeted this week.

‘Tom has been supportive including making sure I have the best possible care. I am beyond grateful to him and blessed that I will make complete and full recovery.

‘Sadly, the inability to launch and build our relationship properly in these early days forces us to terminate our marriage.

Prior to their engagement, the former couple had known each other for 15 years.

The five-time Open winner had been married once prior to that, wedding Linda Rubin, whom he met during high school.

They married in 1972 and were divorced twenty-five years later, in 1997.
