Lewis Dunk is reportedly in line for an England call-up on Wednesday following the centre-back’s stellar season with Brighton.
The Seagulls are on the verge of qualifying for European football for the first time following their 3-1 home win over Southampton on Sunday.
Dunk has had a fine season as Brighton captain, with the team surpassing all expectations.
But has just one England appearance to his name, playing the whole of the national team’s 3-0 friendly win over the USA in November 2018.
Now The Athletic report that Dunk is set to feature in Gareth Southgate’s squad for Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia next month, when it is announced on Wednesday.

Southgate’s defence may not be able to shape up in its usual way, with Manchester City involved in the Champions League final six days before England’s away game in Malta.
It was previously reported that Southgate planned to rest Manchester City’s players – including the defensive options of Kyle Walker and John Stones – against Malta, as it follows on quickly from one of the biggest fixtures in their club careers.
It opens the window for 31-year-old Dunk to return to the England frame, with Southgate in attendance at Brighton’s 1-0 win over Manchester United at the start of May, in which the defensive put in a strong performance.

Dunk’s defensive partner Levi Colwill, on loan from Chelsea, is set to be part of the set-up at the Under-21 European Championships next month, instead of the senior team.
England opened their Group C campaign with wins against Italy and Ukraine in March, and will be hoping for six points from six in June to remain top.
Their trip to Malta’s National Stadium in Ta’ Qali on Friday June 16 is followed three days later by a home clash with North Macedonia, which is being held at Old Trafford.
Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze may also feature in the squad when it is announced on Wednesday, after a good run of form for the Eagles.
