Los Angeles Rams running back Ronnie Rivers won $514,837 in Las Vegas while playing three-card poker – almost as much money as his NFL salary.

The undrafted rookie made $515,670 during the 2022 season after bouncing around between the Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, before finally ending up with the Rams. He was promoted from the practice squad to the main roster in November.

His luck was in over the weekend as he shared his success at Caesars Palace to his Instagram story, winning just $833 less than what he earned in his first NFL season.

Rivers, who was seen celebrating in the social media clip, is set to make $870,000 if he is still on the roster for the entirety of the 2023 season.

Rivers appeared in only eight games for the Rams and rushed for 21 yards on nine carries, while gaining 29 receiving yards on five catches.

During his career at Fresno State, Rivers ran for a total of 2,910 yards and 33 touchdowns on 572 rushing attempts, he also recorded 1,152 receiving yards and nine touchdowns on 123 receptions.

During his senior year he ran for only 788 yards on 162 carries, while playing in 11 games.

Rivers was in Las Vegas to celebrate his mother’s birthday and intends to use the winnings to buy her a house, reports KTNV.

The Rams finished the season with a record of 5-12 and look set to undergo several changes this offseason.

They have already hired Mike LaFleur as offensive coordinator and John Becton as new offensive line coach, after both were released by the New York Jets.
