  • The midfielder has reportedly packed his bags ahead of Man United move
  • United will need to see some midfielders depart before Amrabat can join

Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has packed his bags ahead of an impending move to Manchester United, according to reports.

The Red Devils were keen to sign the Moroccan during the January transfer window but Fiorentina were reluctant to part ways with their star man.

Therefore, Man United opted to sign Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich but their strong interest in Amrabat has remained.

According to Tuttosport – via The Sun – Amrabat feels United and Fiorentina are close to reaching an agreement after the Red Devils offered £21.5million for his services last week.

Despite being just shy of Fiorentina’s £26m asking price, Amrabat is confident a deal will be struck within the comings days. Therefore, he has began preparing for the move to Manchester.

According to Tuttosport – via The Sun – Amrabat has already ‘packed his suitcase’ in order to travel to Carrington as soon as an agreement between the two clubs is in place.

Mail Sport reported on Saturday that the Fiorentina midfielder would cost the club £30m but Fiorentina is now said to be open to £26m.

Nevertheless, the signing of Amrabat will depend on sales. Galatasaray are interested in Brazilian international Fred, though the Turkish club are falling short of his valuation, while Real Sociedad hold an interest in Donny van de Beek.

Securing the services of Amrabat would allow United to strengthen their capabilities in central and defensive midfield.
