Mario Lemina is keen to move to Wolves after Nice rejected a bid for their midfielder.
Wolves are set for a busy January and have moved for Lemina after clinching the loan signing of forward Matheus Cunha from Atletico Madrid.
Though Nice turned down the original offer, a sale is not out of the question and personal terms are not expected to be a problem if Nice do eventually accept.

It is thought Lemina could earn significantly higher wages if he returns to the Premier League.
Lemina spent four years at Southampton before joining Nice in summer 2021.
While under contract at Saints, the 29-year-old also had spells with Galatasaray and Fulham.
Since joining Nice last year, he has scored three goals in 55 appearances for the Ligue 1 side.
Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui is looking to improve his side during the January market to help them in their fight to avoid relegation.
