The Miami Heat were dealt a painful injury blow in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Round 1 playoff game against the Bucks, after Tyler Herro was forced off with a broken hand late in the second quarter.
Herro has been one of the team’s standout players in 2022-23, but is now facing a spell on the sidelines after being quickly ruled out – initially – for the remainder of Game 1.
The injury occurred with less than a minute remaining of the second quarter, when the point guard dived to recover a loose ball and landed awkwardly on his right hand.
He got up, in clear pain, and tried to carry on for the next few seconds, even inadvertently receiving the ball from a teammate and attempting a three-pointer, which dropped short of the basket.
From there, he was taken out of the game and headed straight to the locker room, where he was diagnosed with a broken hand and ruled out for the rest of the game.

In fact, the No 8 seed Heat were in a brilliant position when Herro left the game, 12 points up against the No 1 overall seed in the Round 1 matchup.
