A groom on his stag was stopped by police at the British Grand Prix after his friends forced him to wear a Just Stop Oil (JSO) t-shirt.

The hilarious image shows the man on the receiving end of a stern word from police officers while on his day out at Silverstone.

The groom is seen wearing a bright orange t-shirt with the Just Stop Oil logo plastered on the front and a pair of black cargo shorts.

In an image posted on social media, with the poster writing that the man kept ‘getting stopped by the police’ after ‘his mates made him wear’ it.

Just Stop Oil confirmed he wasn’t a member of the organisation.

The concern from police is justified, giving the antics of the eco-activist group in recent weeks in disrupting sporting events.

In response to activity at Lords for the Ashes and and a similar stunt at Wimbledon, ministers and police chiefs have called out for tougher sentences for protesters who invade sports pitches.

The claims haven’t put off the group however, which has said it vows to continue disrupting popular sporting fixtures until the government agrees to its demands.

Wimbledon has added powder paint to its list of banned substances to stop eco yob protests such as those seen at the Ashes.

It comes as the group changes its tactics up and down the country after Morgan Trowland, 40 and Marcus Decker, 36, were jailed last year for blocking one of the busiest stretches of road in the country.

The pair hoisted a banner between two pillars of the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, which links the M25 in Essex and Kent, and slept in hammocks in freezing temperatures overnight.

Police chiefs have recently noted that the sentences handed to Trowland and Decker prompted a withdrawal in the intensity of the protests.

‘Since the Dartford Bridge protesters were jailed, we’ve not seen a repeat of the M25 protests,’ an insider said.

‘It sent a chill through the groups in terms of what they’re willing to do, and that’s why you’ve seen a change in tactics to slow-walking and sporting events.’

This week, hilarious scenes saw the tables turn on the protestors as they were caught getting stuck in traffic during a slow march protest on Monday.

The Eco zealots were forced to come to a standstill behind a queue of cars while slow marching in London.

Members of the group were spotted holding their orange banners patiently as cars beeped their horns on the busy street.

The organisation later tweeted that five of its supporters had been arrested for ‘peacefully demanding an end to new fossil fuels’.
