Fans are convinced that Morocco are going to be first African nation to win the World Cup after they beat Spain on penalties to move into the quarter-finals.
Despite topping their group, Morocco entered the contest as the underdogs against the European giants, but they stuck to their task and managed to keep Spain at bay for 120 minutes.
They then dominated the penalty shootout, winning 3-0, with Achraf Hakimi scoring the decisive spot-kick courtesy of an audacious ‘Panenka’ chip. Supporters are now backing Morocco to go all the way in Qatar.

Morocco are now looking to be the first African nation ever to win the World Cup
‘Morocco will win the World Cup. Mark my words,’ one fan declared on Twitter.
Another was in agreement, adding: ‘Morocco will win the World Cup.’
This year’s World Cup has seen a number of major shocks, with Argentina losing to Saudi Arabia in the group stages, while Germany were also beaten by Japan as they exited the tournament early.
Morocco pulled off a surprise of their own when they beat Belgium in Group F, yet one supporter has claimed that their victory over Spain is the biggest giant-killing of the lot.
‘The biggest upset at the FIFA World Cup.. Morocco beat Spain on penalties.. through to the quarter finals,’ they wrote.
No African side has ever made it to the semi-finals of football’s biggest international tournament, although Ghana came desperately close in 2010 when they were eliminated by Uruguay on penalties.
Still, this World Cup has been hard to predict, and one fan has hailed the surprise wins that have kept on coming in Qatar.
‘Can’t believe what I just witnessed in the Spain – Morocco game. This World Cup is just surprise after another surprise,’ they wrote on Twitter.
Morocco must now turn their attention to creating more history, with the team back in action on Saturday in their quarter-final match.
They will face either Portugal or Switzerland in the last eight.
