NBA teams ‘are monitoring Zion Williamson’s Pelicans future closely’ amid off-season porn star drama

Zion Williamson recently announced he and his girlfriend were expecting a child, and it’s possible that there’s another big life change coming this summer for the former No. 1 overall pick.

The Pelicans, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, want to draft Scoot Henderson but are poorly positioned to do so at the minute with the 14th pick. Henderson is supposed to go no later than No. 3 overall.

That means what once would’ve seemed unthinkable – making Williamson available – could be on the table in order to get Henderson. 

‘I’m told [The Pelicans] are going after Scoot Henderson… Do the Pelicans look hard internally of moving Zion Williamson,’ Charania asked on FanDuel TV’s ‘Run it Back.’

A two-time All-Star already with a career average of 25.8 points per game, Williamson has absolutely shown why the Pelicans – and the rest of the league – viewed him as a generational talent coming out of Duke in 2019.

Zion Williamson has become the talk of Twitter and the NBA world since the pregnancy  and the subsequent allegations put forward by porn star Moriah Mills 

But the bruising forward has hardly been on the court, as he played just 29 games last season, missed the entire 2021-22 year and has surpassed the 60-game mark just once in his four years thus far.

And Williamson’s offseason has gotten off to a rough start in his personal life as well, as he was called out by porn star Moriah Mills online after announcing he and his girlfriend Ahkeema were expecting a child.

Mills went on a Twitter tirade after the news became public claiming saying she had slept with the Pelicans star the week prior and saying he ‘better pray’ she was not pregnant.

The adult performer also released alleged texts between the pair later on.

While there’ve been no public indications that the Pelicans are upset with Williamson over the situation, the 22-year-old could nonetheless find himself on the trade block in the coming weeks.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst corroborated what Charania reported, saying the Pelicans have had ‘cursory discussions’ about moving up for Henderson, who starred for G League Ignite last year. 

‘There haven’t been any offers made necessarily yet, but it makes you really not take too far of a leap to wonder… and the league is certainly wondering if the Pelicans are going to make for the first time truly Zion Williamson available ahead of next week’s draft,’ he said on ‘Get Up.’

The NBA Draft is on June 22 in New York.
