The Jets will not be making a quarterback change for Week 2 after Joe Flacco’s first-week struggles, keeping the veteran as the starter while Zach Wilson remains out through injury.

Flacco, a 37-year-old in his 15th NFL season, passed for 307 yards and a touchdown against the Ravens, though it took him a whopping 59 attempts to get there and he also threw a pick.

The Jets would go on to lose the game 24-9, failing to really compete with Baltimore and scoring their lone touchdown in the game’s final minute.

But New York is giving Flacco another shot, per ESPN, and reportedly never seriously considered going to the team’s third-stringer Mike White.

The decision comes after Flacco’s teammates also disappointed in the game, as the Jets lost a fumble and committed four drops on offense.

With left tackle Duane Brown placed on injured reserve shortly before the game, rookie Max Mitchell was brought in to protect Flacco’s right side (as George Fant was moved to left tackle).

And the quarterback was sacked three times and pressured 16 times, according to Pro Football Reference.

Flacco has now started six games over the past three seasons for the Jets, and impressed in a loss vs. the Dolphins last year, throwing for 291 yards and two touchdowns.

But Jets fans apparently wanted to see another face in at QB last Sunday, as they chanted the name of White, who won the hearts of Jets fans last year with 405 yards and three touchdowns in a win over the Bengals.

The Jets lost the other two games White started last season.

Wilson suffered a bone bruise and meniscus tear in the preseason and is expected to be sidelined a bit longer.

Coach Robert Saleh previously earmarked Week 4 vs. the Steelers as the earliest he could return.
