Pat Cummins confirms David Warner WILL play fourth Ashes Test at Old Trafford despite dreadful form as Josh Hazlewood replaces Scott Boland

Australia have kept the faith in David Warner despite the opener’s torrid form, with the veteran set to keep his place in the team for the fourth Ashes Test.

Warner has endured a miserable tour of England this summer, only hitting one half century in six Ashes innings, with Stuart Broad regularly dismissing him early in his innings.

With Australia needing just a draw to retain The Ashes, captain Pat Cummins has backed Warner to help the team over the line in Manchester, confirming that Warner will play.

He also confirmed that Josh Hazlewood has replaced Scott Boland in the bowling attack, but was yet to commit to announcing his full team.

Mail Sport reported on Monday that Australia are pondering fielding a team with no frontline spinner, with Todd Murphy expected to make way for Cameron Green.
