Alabama Crimson Tide star quarterback Bryce Young did not start against Texas A&M, despite being announced as the starter before the game.
The reigning Heisman Trophy winner, and projected first-round draft pick, is still dealing with a shoulder injury that caused him to exit last week’s game against Arkansas.
Jalen Milroe, started the game after scoring two touchdowns in relief of Young during last weekend’s win at Arkansas.

Prior to the game Young dressed and was one of three team captains for the game but did not attempt any passes during pregame warmups. He took reps in practice during the week but was limited in his ability to throw the football.
On Thursday Alabama head coach Nick Saban told reporters that Young suffered no structural damage to Young’s shoulder, and that he did not expect the quarterback to be out for an extended period of time.
The coach also stated throughout the week that they would evaluate Young daily, and the decision would be would be done in consultation with Young and the medical staff.

The redshirt freshman, Milroe threw for 65 yards and a touchdown against Arkansas. He also rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown.
