Roma will try to persuade Jose Mourinho into staying at the club by promising some exciting summer transfer business, according to reports.

Mail Sport confirmed this week that the Portuguese manager has emerged as a frontrunner to land the vacant head coach role at French giants PSG.

Mourinho has led Roma to the Europa League Final, a year after winning the Europa Conference League, and is adored by supporters in the Italian capital.

But it is expected that PSG will part company with Christophe Galtier in the coming weeks and that they’ve already begun their search to replace him, with Mourinho being one of their targets.

However, reports from Italy suggest that Mourinho will not be the only manager on PSG’s shortlist and, because of this, it’s now led Roma to try and convince him into staying.

According to Calciomercato, Roma’s sporting director – Tiago Pinto – will attempt to persuade Mourinho by promising two, big summer signings.

Those two players are Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar and Eintracht Frankfurt defedner Evan N’dicka.

Aouar had been linked with a move to Premier League side’s Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest last summer, however a move never materialised.

The outlet also claim that negotiations have already begun over Roma’s move for French defender N’Dicka, who had previously been linked with Arsenal.

Pinto is keen to ensure that Mourinho stays at the club, despite the sporting director’s recent links over a move to Tottenham.

Mail Sport revealed last week that the north London club were targeting Roma’s Pinto and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Markus Krosche to succeed Fabio Paratici.

Mourinho’s relationship with fellow Portuguese Pinto is thought to have been strained at times this term and the coach only has one year remaining on his contract.

The Serie A outfit will be hoping that Mourinho chooses to stay at the club considering their recent heroics in the Europa League semi-finals.

The Italian side produced a dogged defensive display against Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday night to secure a 0-0 draw – 1-0 on aggregate – and book their place in the final of the competition.

They’ll now face Sevilla on May 31st after the Spanish side triumphed over Juventus 3-2 in their semi-final tie.
