Tom Brady’s son Jack won’t be under pressure to become an NFL star like his dad

Tom Brady‘s son Jack may well become the family’s next sporting success… but according to his mom Bridget Moynahan it is more likely to come on the basketball court than the NFL field.

Given his father is the greatest football player of all-time, there is plenty of expectation on the shoulders of Jack, 15, to continue the Brady quarterback legacy, but his actress mom has revealed that might not be the case.

Speaking on Live with Kelly and Mark, the Blue Bloods actress, 52, revealed: ‘I really think that he’s kind of like that normal kid who doesn’t really know what he wants to do yet and I think that’s okay.

‘I certainly don’t want to put any pressure on him to do what I do or what his father does.’

When pushed on whether he likes playing football, she added: ‘No, he’s more of a basketball player. He loves basketball. Yeah, basketball and lacrosse.’

Last month, New England Patriots legend Tom echoed similar sentiments and revealed that Jack was considering giving up football at the age of 15.

‘Yeah, he played this last year and I don’t even know if he’s going to play next year,’ Brady told PEOPLE. ‘And to be honest, whatever he chooses, I’ll be very happy. 

‘But he loves lacrosse… basketball’s probably his favorite sport, but he’s a very good student.

‘Again, I think wherever he ends up finding the path, I think for me and his mom just to support that is the best thing possible.’

Brady and Moynahan dated from 2004 to 2006, and the actress fell pregnant in the latter stages of their relationship.

Jack was born in August 2007 in California, by which time Brady had entered his new relationship with supermodel Gisele Bundchen.

The pair had two further children – Benjamin, born in December 2009, and Vivian, born in December 2012.

Brady and Bundchen announced their divorce after 13 years of marriage in October 2022, and it is believed that the NFL legend is currently single.
