We avoided physical contact but passed drinks – Johnson

Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said Downing Street staff were not touching each other’s pens but did pass drinks at work events during Covid lockdown.

Johnson has said he would not pretend guidance was “enforced rigidly”, but adds “that’s explicitly what the guidance provides for”.

He also listed a series of measures taken by his office to curb the spread of Covid.
