What’s been said?

Heading into the game, Xavi is hoping that his Barcelona side can dominate the game but is expecting a tough test.

‘We’re going to go out to try to dominate the game, but we know that won’t be easy,’ Xavi said at his pre-match press conference.

‘We have faced them a lot and we know them quite well.

‘There can always be surprises, but what would surprise me is if they change their general approach.

‘They know what they do and they do it well. I think we’ll see an aggressive Real Madrid.

‘Remember, in the first leg they were the better team. They’re a very good team, but I think my team is well-prepared.’

As for Madrid, Ancelotti believes that his side must put in a ‘complete performance’ in order to progress to the final.

‘They have a goal advantage, but we can’t go crazy in search of the goal,’ Ancelotti said at his pre-match press conference.

‘You could score in the fifth minute, but then concede two. Or you could score in the 90th minute.

‘Our approach will be to have a complete performance, not to score goals. If you have a complete performance, the goals will come.

‘Barcelona have won the past three Clasico’s. It’s our turn.

‘I still think we played well in the last two Clasico’s matches, despite the result.’

Prediction

Xavi will know that his side will still have a lot of work to do despite having the one goal advantage.

If Lewandowski is firing from the first whistle, it will almost certainly be enough to send them through.

Despite losing the first leg at home, Madrid will still feel as if they can progress through to the final.

With Benzema scoring a hat-trick in his last game, the Frenchman will be itching to carry on his good run of form.

Prediction – 2-1 Barcelona
