The Europa League resumed on Thursday evening as Manchester United booked their place in the quarter-finals.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are still going strong in their bid for a historic Premier League title, but they face a tricky game against Sporting Lisbon after drawing the away tie 2-2 last week

United are now all-but out of the Premier League title race following their draw to Southampton and humiliating defeat to Liverpool, but they cruised through to the Europa League quarter-finals after a 1-0 win away at Real Betis sealed a 5-1 victory on aggregate.

Former United manager Jose Mourinho is still in the competition, with his Roma side 2-0 up against Real Sociedad heading into the second leg.

But when does the draw for the quarter-finals take place? And when will the ties be played? Sportsmail provides the answers below.

When is the Europa League quarter-final draw and how to watch it?

The draw for the quarter-finals of the Europa League will take place on Friday, March 17.

It will get underway at 12pm, for those in the United Kingdom, and will typically take place at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

The draw will be available to stream on UEFA’s official website, while BT Sport will also be televising it live.

Sportsmail will also be covering the draw live, so you can keep up-to-date with us.

How will the draw work? And what about the semi-final and final?

The Europa League quarter-final draw will consist of the eight teams who prevailed in the round of 16 ties.

Teams from the same country can, at this stage, now square off, while there are no longer any seeds. It means Man United could be drawn with Arsenal if the Gunners join them in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, those who competed in the group stage together can also be drawn against each other in the quarter-final stage.

The semi-final draw will also be made on March 17, meaning those who have progressed to the quarter-finals will also know their potential route to the final.

A draw will also be made to determine the ‘home’ team for the final, though that is purely for administrative purposes.

Who will reach the quarter-finals?

Four teams have secured their place in the last eight, with the other four due to be confirmed on Thursday night.

Manchester United, Juventus, Sevilla and Feyenoord are all through.

The round of 16 second-leg fixtures and results are as followed:

Thursday, March 16

  • Fenerbahce 1-0 Sevilla (1-2)
  • Freiburg 0-2 Juventus (0-3)
