Chicago White Sox pitcher Mike Clevinger starred on the mound in Saturday’s win vs. Baltimore — though his walkout song the day prior has not gone without attention too.

Clevinger, who has endured a turbulent offseason, made his home debut for the Sox Friday and walked out to Kanye West‘s famous ‘Gold Digger’ featuring Jamie Foxx, per the Chicago Tribune.

Some may deduce it to be a not-so thinly-veiled shot at the alleged mother of one of his child. Although, Clevinger was in no mood to assist in the piecing the puzzle postgame.

‘Are you a music producer? No? OK. Well if you have a baseball question, I’m here for you,’ Clevinger said after Friday’s loss, via the Tribune.

Finestead wrote on an Instagram story that Clevinger looked ‘like an a$$ when you speak to people like this’, in response to the quote.

Major League Baseball announced on March 2 Clevinger would not face discipline under following an investigation into domestic violence accusations by Olivia Finestead.

Clevinger agreed voluntarily to be evaluated by treatment boards covering domestic violence and ‘drugs of abuse’ and to comply with any of the boards’ recommendations.

The league released a statement announcing the closure of the investigation after ‘interviews of more than 15 individuals, in addition to Mr. Clevinger and the complainant as well as a review of available documents.’

Clevinger released a statement after the decision was announced, saying, ‘I am pleased that Major League Baseball has concluded its investigation.

‘I had nothing to hide and cooperated fully with MLB. This situation has been stressful for my family, and I thank them for their strength and support.

‘I asked everyone not to rush to judgement until MLB’s investigation was concluded, and I appreciate everyone who had faith in me, including the White Sox organization and my teammates.

‘I am looking forward to the 2023 season and helping the White Sox win a championship this year.’

Finestead posted two stories involving Clevinger’s teammate Oscar Colas – who hit the walk-off homer vs. Baltimore Saturday. She captioned the first ‘Meanwhile …’ showcasing Colas liking a litany of her photos.

She then took a screenshot of Colas’s profile, urging Clevinger to usher his colleague away. ‘Mike get your teammate off my page,’ she captioned the story.

In an explosive February interview on Perkins & Spiegel on Chicago’s 670TheScore, Finestead accused Clevinger of mistreating her child, saying ‘he physically harmed our kid.’ She also accused the ex-Padres pitcher of being ‘on drugs frequently.’

Clevinger criticized the radio station following the interview and suggested there was a warped interest in things of such a nature.

‘It’s the world we’re living in,’ told reporters. ‘Everyone wants the clicks. It doesn’t matter what the real truth is.

‘Everyone will stop and look at the car crash, but no one’s going to stop and smell the flowers. That’s how the world is. But that was really trashy of them. That was some lowlife material right there.’
