Raul Jimenez has reportedly completed his medical at Fulham ahead of a proposed £5.5million move from Wolves.

The Mexican striker scored three goals in all competitions for Julen Lopetegui‘s side last season, making only 15 Premier League appearances in a campaign plagued by injury.

Mail Sport revealed on Sunday that Jimenez had been given permission to leave Wolves’ pre-season training camp in Portugal with the two clubs moving quickly to complete the deal.

The 32-year-old has now successfully passed his medical with Marco Silva‘s side and is set to be announced as Fulham’s latest signing within the next 24 hours, according to Sky Sports.

Fulham’s £5.5m bid for their talisman has been accepted with Jimenez’s arrival possible signalling a departure for Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The Craven Cottage outfit have already rejected two bids from Saudi Arabia for their Serbian goalscorer with Al-Hilal’s last offer in the region of £35m.

Mitrovic was reportedly fuming with the decision and has apparently told family members that he will never play for Fulham again, despite signing a contract until 2026.

However, confirmation of Jimenez edging nearer to joining the club could be a signal that Fulham intend to let their disgruntled star leave if a new offer comes in for him.

Mitrovic scored 14 Premier League goals for Fulham last season but has undoubtedly had his head turned by the riches on offer by moving to a Saudi Pro League side.

Meanwhile, Jimenez will be hoping a change of scenery can reignite his career after a difficult few years at Wolves where he has struggled with a long-term lay-off and falling down the first-team pecking order.

The Mexican had previously been lauded as one of the stand-out performers while working under former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo before a horrific head injury derailed his career.

After fracturing his skull while contesting for the ball with Arsenal‘s David Luiz in November 2020, Jimenez had to undergo surgery before eventually being eased back into competitive football.

Since the injury, he has managed just nine goals in all competitions as he recovered from the career-threatening accident, and has proven to be a shadow of the player he had shown himself capable of.
