Joel Embiid is doubtful to feature in Game 1 of the second round vs. the Celtics, according to Sixers coach Doc Rivers, and even his status for Game 2 is up in the air.

Embiid suffered a sprained LCL in his right knee during the first round vs. the Nets.

And while Philly easily wrapped up the series in Game 4 without him, it looks like he’ll start the Eastern Conference semifinals on the sideline as well.

‘There is no latest,’ Rivers told reporters Saturday. ‘Obviously, the doctors looked at him, and he didn’t do anything today.

‘I’ll say this, but if I was a betting man, I would probably say doubtful for at least Game 1. But we’ll see.

‘He has to get better,’ the coach added.

Nine days after hurting himself in Game 3 vs. the Nets, Embiid has not been able to participate in practice, Rivers said, with Philly’s second-round series vs. Boston coming up on Monday.

The Sixers swept an undermanned Nets team 4-0 in the first round, but Embiid was actually held in check by his lofty standards.

The presumptive MVP scored just 20 points per contest in three games before sitting out in Game 4.

With the Hawks taking Boston to six games before being eliminated, the Sixers have not played in a week.

Boston wrapped things up in the first round with a 128-120 win over the Hawks in Atlanta.
