Real Madrid have been crowned the Spanish Super Cup champions after an eight year absence from the final, holding off Athletic Bilbao in Saudi Arabia.
Luka Modric opened the scoring with from outside the box before Karim Benzema stepped up to fire a 52nd minute spot-kick, after VAR penalised Yeray Alvarez for handball.
